Grand Riverwest: A Good Place to Gather by the River

In conjunction with Grand River Community Development and Greenfire Management Services, Seven Generations Architecture + Engineering proposed a plan for the Grand Riverwest Development comprised of 74 housing units appealing to a wide range of Milwaukee Residents.

The plan embraced a concept of three circles. The first, a residential circle, refers to the 74 one, two, and three-bedroom units within the development. Residents within this circle would enjoy access to the amenities of North Avenue, the Beerline Trail, and the Milwaukee River. A proposed community courtyard connects the elements of nature to neighborhood living.

The second circle refers to the greater Zagora, or land beyond the hill, as well as other ethnically and culturally diverse neighborhoods that make up the community surrounding RiverWest. The third circle represents the many Wisconsin tribes that make up the interconnected tribal community of Milwaukee.

The three-circle approach highlights the community spirit alive and well in Riverwest. Embracing diversity and creating a supportive, thriving community were key goals for this proposed design for Grand Riverwest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
