On June 4, 2021, a team from Seven Generations Architecture + Engineering sponsored and participated in the Chief Moguago Veterans Golf Outing put on by the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi (NHBP). Mike Hawarny, Shawn Lettow, Scott Winchester, and Steve VandenBussche represented Seven Generations A + E at the golf outing held at Binder Park Golf Course in Battle Creek, Michigan.

The annual golf event raises funds for the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi Veterans Fund, which was established to assist foundations and local organizations that provide immediate assistance and relief for Veterans. In addition to being an important philanthropic event for the community, the Chief Moguago Veterans Golf Outing is a fun day on the course complete with delicious food stops along the way. In years past, funds raised from the golf outing have been distributed by the NHBP Veterans Fund to groups like the American Legion Post 257, Michigan Department of Disabled Veterans, the Southwest Michigan Veterans Relief Fund, and many other organizations focused on supporting Veterans in Michigan.

This year’s event began with an impressive opening ceremony featuring an Ogitchedaw welcome, drum start, touching performance of the National Anthem by WOOD-TV host Jordan Carson, raising of the flag, taps, and a showstopping entrance from a paratrooper hailing from a long family lineage of military service.

7GAE was honored to participate in this annual event that contributes so much to the community. Thanks to the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi for bringing our community together and coordinating such a fun event.
